CASE #43: THE GIRL SCOUT + MR. MOJO RISIN'

SUBMITTED BY: THE GIRL SCOUT
LENGTH OF RELATIONSHIP: Several 24 hours.
INFO: Since you've posted texts, phone transcripts and personally written stories, maybe this will slide.

----------------------------------------------------

I was very good friends with this guy, in fact, we were best friends with the same gal. We always had some chemistry, but for three years one or the other of us was always dating someone. So, his bitch girlfriend kicks him out as soon as he finishes remodeling her condo and I just had my heart broken by a guy who loved a computer game more than me. So, one Halloween, he's Jim Morrison and I'm a Girl Scout and we're at a Halloween party at the strip bar.

Next morning I show up at work (it's actually Halloween that day) in a Girl Scout uniform reaking of beer and smoke, with some Jager and Shiner Bock patches, and a huge hickey my scarf doesn't hide but rather accentuates. We end up spending 24 hours together every weekend for about a month. And we NEVER talk about where this is going. So I make him a CD and tell him track number four reminds me of him & I.

Here are the lyrics:

Lit, "Happy in the Meantime"

It's just another reason why
It all comes down to you and I
Just have another drink
Waste some time with me
We're happy in the meantime

I've gotta make up for losin' time
Cuz I've been spinnin' my wheels all night
And I can't wait
Can't hardly wait to see you
Things seem better off now
I think I'm better off now

[CHORUS:]
It's just another reason why
It all comes down to you and I
Just have another drink
Waste some time with me
We're happy in the meantime

I guess the rain's gonna follow me
Cuz it's been droppin' in mine all day
And I can't wait
Can't hardly wait to see if
Things seem better off now
I think I'm better off now

He calls me up a few days later and says he doesn't think that's a good song and asks if I'm OK. Yeah, sure, everything is fine. He comes over and gives me a Keane CD. He says this song reminds me of him. Here are the lyrics:

Keane, "Your Eyes Open"

Well it's a lonely road that you have chosen
Morning comes
And you don't want to know me anymore
And it's a long time since your heart was frozen
Morning comes
And you don't want to know me anymore

For a moment your eyes open and you know
All the things I ever wanted you to know
I don't know you and I don't want to
Till the moment your eyes open and you know

That it's a lonely place that you have run to
Morning comes
And you don't want to know me anymore
And it's a lonely end that you will come to
Morning comes
And you don't want to know me anymore

For a moment your eyes open and you know
All the things I ever wanted you to know
I don't know you and I don't want to
Till the moment your eyes open and you know

For a moment your eyes open and you know
All the things I ever wanted you to know
I don't know you and I don't want to
Till the moment your eyes open and you know.

I still suspect he feels like I used him. We never ever talked about it. The only thing that was ever said was last year, he commented that he didn't know why we stopped seeing each other. I just told him I didn't know. Our friendship has never been the same. We only talk once a month and I haven't seen him without his current girlfriend in almost a year.

And who the fuck breaks up by song lyrics? We're both either some serious musicphiles or had major confrontational issues. Damn.
